A famous children’s rhyme was, “Sticks and stones may break my bones but words shall never harm me.” In today’s world, words are just as harmful as sticks and stones when maliciously used in cyber bullying.

As the new form of bullying, cyber bullying is when an individual is tormented, threatened, harassed, humiliated, embarrassed or otherwise targeted by another individual using the Internet, interactive and digital technologies or mobile phones.

Cyber bullying may occur in different forms such as hacking a person’s account, sending intimidating or threatening emails and posting derogatory comments on a person’s social networking site. Because of the impact of cyber bullying, a number of individuals have experienced mental health issues and committed suicide.

As an intervention to this problem, Ronald Holmes is releasing a new book on, “Eradicating Cyber Bullying.” This book provides research-based solutions on what to do to eradicate cyber bullying in the school, home, community and workplace through the resource of an Online National Anti-Cyber Bullying Curriculum and Web Based Reporting, Tracking, Training and Documentation System called Tell24-7.com. This book also provides real-life stories of individuals who have been cyber bullied in the U.S. and abroad illustrating the seriousness of this epidemic.
